Like its predecessor, the Shelly 1PM Mini GEN3 is equipped with a meter and can handle a maximum current of 8A, making it suitable for switching and metering lighting and other lower power consumers.

Like all Shelly products, it connects directly to a WiFi router, without the need for a local control centre, hub or bridge. It can be installed as a stand-alone device - just one device to automate or measure the power consumption of lights or other devices - or as part of a complete system to convert an entire building, whether new or renovated, into a smart home.

It is one of the smallest WiFi devices for smart switch control and smart metering. Thanks to its small size, it can be conveniently installed behind a standard wall switch in an outlet or in a junction box, even retrofitted, to remotely control lighting or other devices below 8A and monitor their on/off status.

By installing Shelly 1PM Mini GEN3 for existing switches in wall sockets, you can remotely control lighting or other appliances, monitor their status and energy consumption, while keeping your existing switches. This makes the device ideal for a subsequent "smart" upgrade. It is also excellent for controlling single contact switches, but due to the 8A maximum limit, it is not suitable for controlling socket outlets!

The Shelly 1PM Mini Gen3 relay, like other small Shelly smart relays, includes a switch input, which means that when installed behind a wall switch, you can still use the wall switch to turn on/off a lamp (or other load), while being able to remotely control a connected lamp or device via WiFi, and have a variety of timers available. The Shelly app also has the option to disable the switches - useful for child safety, for example, as you can then control the relay exclusively via the app.

The relay is compatible not only with two-position switches but also with manual (piano) switches and allows connection to parallel and cross switches.

With the automatic switch-off function, the pulse switch mode can also be set.

The Shelly 1PM Mini GEN3 relay switches the supply voltage (110-240V AC) at the output (max. 8A), so it is not suitable for a dry contact switch!

IMPORTANT: the phase required to operate the Shelly 1PM Mini and the phase switched by the switches must be from the same phase, as the Shelly 1PM Mini is not suitable for multiphase operation!

GATEWAY FUNCTIONS:

The predecessor uses an ESP32 chip, while the Shelly 1PM Mini GEN3 is equipped with an ESP-Shelly-C38F chip. Like its predecessor, it supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth protocols. It includes a Bluetooth gateway that acts as a receiver and gateway for the new generation of Shelly Bluetooth sensors and remotes. It also includes a Wi-Fi repeater that allows the Wi-Fi signal to be extended to remote Shelly devices, acting as a Wi-Fi mesh network.

BLUETOOTH CONNECTION:

Connecting to your phone is simple and fast via Bluetooth, similar to other Shelly devices in the second generation and the Pro range.

MORE POWERFUL PROCESSOR, MORE FEATURES:

The Shelly 1PM Mini GEN3 is part of the third generation with twice as much memory (8MB) compared to its 4MB predecessor (ESP-Shelly-C38F chip).

OVERHEATING AND OVERVOLTAGE PROTECTION:

The Shelly 1PM Mini is equipped with overheat, overvoltage and overload protection, ensuring safe operation even in small rooms with wall sockets.

Shelly FUNCTIONS:

Supports HTTP/HTTPS webhooks for easy connection, notification and control of compatible products or other automation systems.

Support for sunrise and sunset timers with a +/- 23 hour delay.

Supports up to 20 timers operating locally (offline).

Support for mjS scripts, which allow users to create their own functions and options. Shelly devices can execute multiple scripts at the same time depending on different triggers (I/O, sensors, WLAN requests).

TIMERS:

Possibility to set on/off according to the days of the week.

Support for sunrise and sunset timings (also with a delay, e.g. sunset + 5 hours).

Support for automatic switch-off and switch-on after a set time.

MODES OF OPERATION:

Cloud mode: connects to the free Shelly Cloud, through which you can manage and configure your device using the Shelly Cloud app (iOS and Android) or via https://home.shelly.cloud/.

LAN / local area network: you can only control the devices from devices connected to your local network.

WiFi Access Point mode: If there is no permanent WiFi network, you can connect your phone or laptop directly to the WiFi emitted by the device to control it.

Consumption data is stored in the Shelly Cloud and can be viewed and downloaded in the app.

In the cloud, Shelly devices can control each other's operation based on complex rules (Shelly Cloud Scene). It is also possible to manage directly between devices via HTTP commands (Direct Device-to-Device (DDD)), even without the cloud, when the devices have fixed IP addresses and are connected to a local network. This allows mutual management even when Internet access is disabled or interrupted.

Shelly 1PM Smart Control is also available free of charge with the manufacturer's own app and Shelly Cloud service.

INTEGRATIONS:

With basic firmware, Shelly is already one of the easiest devices to integrate on the market. It supports MQTT and control via REST API. It is compatible with Google Home, Amazon Echo and Yandex Alice voice control. Shelly 1PM Mini GEN3 supports both cloud and MQTT control.

Many Shelly devices are already integrated into the SmartThings platform via Shelly Cloud.

In addition, the factory supports many other open source and non-open source systems:

MQTT

HomeSeer

ioBroker

Home Assistant

openHAB

Domoticz

SYMCAN

nymea

Hubitat

Hoobs

REST API

AVAILABILITY:

Due to its small size, it fits into the smallest wall sockets, usually behind switches.

Other technical specifications:

Operating voltage: 110-230V AC ±10%.

Output: 8A / max 240V AC

Like other smart relays, it requires the presence of a phase and neutral conductor.

The Shelly 1PM Mini GEN3 is an improved version of the Shelly 1PM Mini.
