Shelly Dimmer Gen3 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth module

Shelly Dimmer Gen3 is an upgrade of the third generation of the original Shelly Dimmer 2 smart module. Like its predecessor, it can turn lights on and off and adjust their brightness. It makes it easy to adjust the light intensity in rooms according to the time of day, the current activity (watching TV, reading, dining, socialising) or even the mood.

Lighting can be controlled not only via the internet, but also through scheduled automations - whether it's a one-off schedule or a recurring event, even based on the time of sunrise or sunset. The dimmer also supports smooth fade-in and fade-out transitions.

Like other Shelly relays, its ultra-compact size makes it suitable for installation in standard wall switchboards or electrical junction boxes. The Shelly Dimmer Gen3 supports a wide range of load types, including:

• Incandescent and halogen lamps up to 200 W
• Dimmable LED luminaires up to 150 W
• Low-voltage halogen with iron transformers up to 200 VA
• Dimmable electronic transformer units up to 200 W

Like all Shelly devices, it connects directly to your Wi-Fi router - without the need for an additional central controller (hub). It can be used as a standalone device to control one or two circuits (e.g. lighting or sockets) or as part of a complete smart home, ideal for new builds or renovations.

Thanks to its compact size, it can be installed behind existing wall switches or sockets for remote control and smart power metering of connected lights or appliances. It is also often used to control roller shutter switches or in roller shutter boxes, as the way it controls roller shutters is among the most advanced on the market.

By installing Shelly Dimmer Gen3 behind your current switches, you retain the full functionality of your existing switches while gaining smart remote control, dimming and power metering - ideal for retroactive smart upgrades to older homes.

Like other compact Shelly relays, it has physical switch inputs that allow manual control of lights or devices, while allowing full remote control via Wi-Fi. You can also create timed automations and disable the physical switch in the app (useful in children's rooms). It supports both classic and momentary switches, as well as wiring with two- and multi-point switches.

The device also has an automatic switch-off function and is configurable for pulse switch mode.

Remark: The Shelly Dimmer Gen3 switches and dims the AC input voltage (110-240 VAC). It is not suitable for switches without voltage (dry contact).
The input phase and the switched phase must be at the same phase - Multi-phase configurations are not supported.

Bluetooth pairing

Shelly Dimmer Gen3 request the new Shelly Smart Control app for setup and is not compatible with the old Shelly Cloud app. Pairing is extremely fast thanks to the built-in Bluetooth chip.

Hardware upgrades

Instead of the ESP32 chip used in previous models, the GEN3 range uses Shelly's own processor ESP-Shelly-C3 - with a faster CPU and double memory (8 MB), which provides improved features and significantly better performance compared to the Shelly Plus series.
