SLWF-01Pro DIY custom Wi-Fi module

SLWF-01pro is a universal Wi-Fi module for smart control, allowing the integration of conventional air conditioning into open source smart home systems.

The module is equipped at the factory with ESPHome firmware that allows you to connect and control compatible air conditioners with open source systems such as Home Assistant, Domoticz and OpenHAB.

Compatibility:

1. Compatible air conditioners: SLWF-01pro supports many brands of air conditioners using the Midea chip, such as ActronAir, Airfel, Alpine, Artel, Ballu, Beco, Bluestar, Bosch, Bryant, Carrier, Comfee, Electrolux, Galactic, Idea, Inventor, Kaisai, KeepRite, Kentatsu, KoolKing, Lennox, Midea, MaxiCool, Mirage, Mitsui, Mr.Cool, Neoclima, Nippon, Olimpia, Olmo, Pioneer, Pitsos, Qlima, Rotenso, RoyalClima, Samsung, Senville, Simando, Toshiba, Vestfrost, Zanussi.
   The list of compatible models is constantly being updated as Midea appliances are sold under different brand names.

   Other integrations with this module are also possible, but the firmware needs to be prepared yourself:

   • Daikin Air Conditioning open source modification - available at Home Assistant forum and GitHub (ESP8266 firmware).
   • Haier ESPHome air conditioners - available at esphome.io.
   • AUX air conditioning - available at Home Assistant forum.

2. Compatibility with smart home systems: The module allows seamless integration of compatible air conditioners into the Home Assistant system, enabling local automation and remote control without the need for a separate app.
   (This product does not include a central unit with Home Assistant.) The module is also compatible with other systems such as Domoticz and OpenHAB.

Key features and characteristics:

1. Management options:

   a. The device has its own local web interface, accessible via phone or browser on a computer connected to the same local network. You can also directly control the air conditioner via this interface. This is useful if you do not want integration with other platforms or want quick access.
   b. After integration with Home Assistant, control is possible via the HA interface and app, and integration with HA automation is also possible. Integration with Home Assistant is automatic (AutoDiscovery).

2. Open source firmware and flexibility: The ESPHome firmware, installed at the factory, allows you to fully customise the functions of the device according to your needs.
   Integration of other open source solutions is also possible, e.g. for Daikin, Haier or AUX air conditioners.

3. Easy to install and use: The SLWF-01pro is an easy-to-connect module that can be easily connected to the air conditioner and quickly integrated into Home Assistant.

4. Extensive support: The device receives regular software updates to ensure compatibility with newer air conditioners.

5. Replacing the firmware: the user can change the firmware and customise the module if desired.

6. Available controllers and sensors:

   • Connection and modes of operation: fan (fan only), cooling-heating, cooling, heating, drying;
   • Personalised fan modes: silent, turbo;
   • Presets: eco, boost, sleep;
   • Special preset: anti-freeze protection;
   • Blade swing modes: vertical, horizontal, both;
   • Controlled by an acoustic signal (buzzer).

   Sensors:

   • External temperature sensor;
   • Energy meter;
   • Humidity setting.

7. Installation:
   Connect the module to the USB input of the air conditioner.
   Wait for the air conditioner's Wi-Fi network to appear.
   Connect to this network with your password slwf01pro.
   Open your browser and type in the address bar 192.168.4.1.
   Select your home Wi-Fi network from the menu.
   Enter your Wi-Fi password and connect.
