Conbee III Universal USB Zigbee Gateway

ConBee III is a universal Zigbee USB gateway (or coordinator) that allows PC or Raspberry Pi based automation systems to communicate with Zigbee devices via the Zigbee protocol. ConBee III is one of the most popular platform-independent Zigbee devices, with a wide range of device and platform compatibility.
It works locally, without a connection to the cloud:

no factory registration required
supports local management of devices without the internet
all data (e.g. status of lights, switches, sensor values) remains on the local network

Compatibility with Zigbee devices

ConBee III is compatible with a wide range of devices such as Philips Hue, Ikea Tradfri, Xiaomi Aqara, Ledvance Smart+, Silvercrest, Schneider Electric, Nous and Sonoff lights, switches and sensors.

Platform-independent solution

ConBee III works with any mini-computing device such as Raspberry Pi, Intel NUC, as well as regular PCs and laptops, adding Zigbee functionality.

Easy migration between platforms

The "backup" function in the Phoscon application allows you to transfer a Zigbee installation to a new system, for example migrating settings from ConBee II to ConBee III.
Open the Phoscon app, make a backup and save it.
Turn off the gateway and replace ConBee II with ConBee III.
Switch on the gateway and log in to the Phoscon app.
Upload the backup.
The network parameters are updated in the background and the application is restarted, which can take up to one minute.
The network can now be managed via ConBee III.

Compatibility with automation systems

ConBee II is integrated with most major smart home platforms, enabling interesting automations.
For example, any Zigbee device can be used with ConBee II via HomeKit using Homebridge-hue.

Thanks to the built-in signal amplifier, ConBee III offers excellent range. The Zigbee signal can pass through 2-3 rooms or floors, depending on the building construction.
Devices further away from the Zigbee coordinator can be connected via the Zigbee Mesh network. The Zigbee Mesh signal repeater function can be provided by Zigbee devices that operate on a constant supply current (230 V phase + zero), such as light bulbs, switching elements, socket outlets; these can act as Zigbee Mesh signal repeaters.

Phoscon software

The Phoscon app is designed to integrate and manage a wide range of popular Zigbee devices and to set up automations and rules.
It is recommended for configuration, management and visualisation of deCONZ Zigbee networks.
ZSHARK is an extension of the Wireshark network analysis tool.
