Product description

The Aqara smoke detector can operate stand-alone (with sound and light signals), but requires a gateway with Zigbee 3.0 communication for full functionality. This product works as a photoelectric smoke detector, detecting the occurrence of a fire at an early stage with a smoke sensor. When the smoke concentration reaches a preset limit, the device triggers an audible and light alarm. At the same time, it sends a notification to the Aqara app via the gateway. To use the device, the following is required Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub. A compatible Aqara hub is required for integration with Apple HomeKit.

Test and silencing

• Press the button three times quickly to reset to factory settings.
• Press the button once to silence the alarm.
• Press and hold the button for 3 seconds to start the automatic test.

Quick setup in the Aqara environment

1. Download the Aqara Home app and connect the Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub.
2. Insert the supplied battery into the detector.
3. In the app, select "Smoke Detector", then quickly press the button on your device three times. After successful connection, you can configure the device.
4. If the connection fails, move the detector closer to the hub and try again.

Installation instructions

• Mount the smoke detector on the ceiling of each separate room, at least 0.5 metres away from walls or corners.
• Do not install the detector in the kitchen, bathroom, dusty or humid areas or near air conditioning.
• In new buildings, install the detector after all construction work has been completed.
• If ceiling mounting is not possible, install it on the far side of the wall, at least 0.5 metres from the ceiling.

Maintenance and warnings

• Clean the device of dust and dirt with a dry cloth every month.
