Aqara U200 smart retrofit lock

U200 smart lock consisting of an outdoor unit and an indoor unit (and associated equipment). The two units communicate wirelessly with each other. Indoor unitwhich turns a cylindrical lock, to be installed on the protected side, while keyboard should be positioned outside the door.

The U200 has a design that allows easy installation on existing doors without major interventions or renovations. It is compatible with most European and North American doors, including various types of European cylinders. The U200 brings a modern keyless lifestyle to a wide range of owners and tenants, while retaining the ability to use traditional keys. Users can enjoy easy access sharing, remote access management and instant notification of lock status for greater convenience and security. 

The Aqara U200 uses state-of-the-art technical solutions to provide users with multiple secure access methods. The door can open with fingerprints (up to 50 samples), one-off and recurring PINs, remote or local access via mobile apps, voice commands or Aqara NFC cards. Aqara is also developing support for HomeKey, which will allow iOS users to unlock the door by touching compatible iPhones and Apple Watch devices. The U200 is one of the first locks compatible with the Matter standard, ensuring future compatibility for users.

Keyboard (external unit) is powered by 4 AAA batteries or by a fixed 12-24V AC or DC power supply. The indoor unit is powered by a Li-Ion battery that can be charged via the USB Type-C port under the removable decorative cap. Thanks to the energy-efficient Thread protocol, the U200 can offers up to 6 months of battery life between charges (with an average usage of 8 times daily unlocking with fingerprint or NFC). In addition, the wireless keypad has IPX5 protection and can withstand extreme temperatures from -18℃ to 66℃, allowing for wide use.

As an integral part of the smart home, the U200 interacts effectively with other smart devices to provide users with a fully automated and personalised smart experience. For example, using the alarm functions in the Aqara app, you can create automations that are triggered when a family member unlocks the U200 or the indoor camera and video doorbell are activated after several failed unlock attempts.

The U200 can be connects to the Aqara Home app via Bluetooth or via the Aqara Hub M3. Compatibility with other Matter-compatible platforms (e.g. Amazon Alexa, Apple Home, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings, Home Assistant) is expected to be rolled out gradually.

Support for HomeKey unlocking is under development and will be available in a future OTA update once the lock has obtained the necessary certificates.

The battery life of 6 months is calculated with an average of 8 daily uses of fingerprint or NFC unlocking.
