How to use Homey Bridge:

1. Use Homey Bridge as an extension of your local Homey Pro hub to extend your wireless range throughout your home.
   
   So you can take advantage of Homey Pro's powerful local features via the optional Bridge to extend your coverage. Zigbee and Z-Wave act as repeaters in the mesh network, while 433 MHz and infrared control the nearest devices.
2. It can also be used as a standalone Bridge, which works as a cloud-based device and requires an internet connection to function.

Integration and compatibility:

Homey Bridge offers broad compatibility and supports popular smart ecosystems and devices such as Philips Hue, Sonos, IKEA TRÅDFRI, Yale and Netatmoamong many others. Whether you use Zigbee for lighting or Z-Wave for sensors, Homey Bridge integrates seamlessly into your system.

A simple start:

Installing the Homey Bridge is easy. Simply connect it to your Wi-Fi network, download the Homey app and start adding your devices. There's no complicated setup, just a quick process that will have you up and running in minutes.

Place the Homey Bridge in a central and open place in your home, for example in the living room, close to the TV. It is important that infrared signals travel upwards and do not pass through walls.

Homey Bridge supports many devices:

The Homey Bridge allows you to connect approximately 240 Z-Wave devices and 50 Zigbee devices.

There is no strict limit on the number of Bluetooth Low Energy, infrared and 433 MHz devices. (Please note that an active Homey Premium subscription is required to connect more than five devices.)

In standalone mode (without Homey Pro) Homey Bridge requires a constant internet connection to function. If the internet fails in your home, Flows that use Homey Bridge (e.g. Zigbee lamp) will not work until the internet is available again. If you need a device that works all the time, consider buying Homey Pro.
