Nous B4Z smart Tuya Zigbee mini roller shutter controller relay module with switch input

One of Nous' new European products is Nous B4Z 2-channel Smart relay with energy metering, equipped with Tuya Zigbee chip, designed for smart control of roller blind motors, motorised shades, motorised curtains and other bidirectional motors, even when installed behind wall switches.

The Nous B4Z relay module contains a Tuya Zigbee chip and needs to be connected to a Tuya Zigbee gateway for remote control via the Tuya/SmartLife app on a smartphone.

What is the Tuya/SmartLife smart home platform and app?

Tuya is a popular cloud-based smart home platform that offers integrated solutions for a variety of smart home devices and applications. The platform enables quick and easy device connection, remote control and management through a single app. Tuya, also known as SmartLife, offers users a complete smart home ecosystem with devices from a wide range of manufacturers.

It supports voice control, remote access and automated processes (scenes). The Tuya platform also integrates with other smart home ecosystems such as Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and SmartThings, allowing Tuya devices to be used on these platforms as well.

In the Tuya range, the European brand Nous is known for its stable, high-quality Tuya devices that can be used with the Nous app or the standard Tuya app.

Nous B4Z Tuya Zigbee Smart Motor Control Module is a 2-channel smart relay module with built-in power metering function. It supports 100-240V AC or 24-30V DC power supply and can connect to Nous' own Zigbee gateway or other standard Tuya Zigbee gateways via the built-in Tuya Zigbee chip.

The device can be controlled via the Nous app on smartphones, but user experience shows that the Tuya app offers more functionality.

Due to its small size, it fits into standard recessed wall sockets, even behind traditional wall switches. It has motor up/down (or open/close) inputs, allowing cleverly upgraded roller shutter switch positions to remain as usable as before.

Nous B4Z is a relay module for the Tuya smart home that operates mainly in cloud mode. However, with Tuya Zigbee gateways that allow local caching and automation, it can also work without an internet connection.

When connected to the Tuya Zigbee gateway, it supports voice control via Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and (for iOS devices) Siri.
