The Shelly 1 GEN4 is the latest, fourth generation Shelly single-pole smart relay, continuing the tradition of the GEN3. Like its predecessor, it supports switching up to 16A and allows dry contact switchingas the controlled circuit is electrically isolated from the power supply needed to operate the relay. This model No includes energy metering functions.

Like all Shelly devices, Shelly 1 GEN4 connects directly to your Wi-Fi routerwithout the need for a hub, local controller or gateway. It is also natively compatible with Matter. In addition, all GEN4 devices have a new operating mode that must be selected before the merger: Zigbee modewhich allows connection to Zigbee gateways or coordinators. Whichever mode you choose, it's ideal for automating lighting or other electrical devices and integrates seamlessly into larger smart home systems - perfect for renovation work or complete smart homes.

It is one of the the most compact Wi-Fi/Zigbee devices for smart management of electrical circuits. Its small size makes it easy to install behind standard wall switches or inside junction boxes - even as a retrofit.

When installed behind existing wall switches, Shelly 1 GEN4 allows remote control lighting or other devices, while keeping the physical switches fully functional. This makes it the perfect choice for adding smart features to existing systems. Works great with single-pole wall switches and thanks to its current limit of 16A, it is also suitable for management of electrical sockets.

The Relay has switch inputso you can continue to use the wall switches while controlling the circuit via Wi-Fi. You can set up automatic on/off schedules and even disable a physical switch - useful for children's rooms, for example.

Shelly 1 GEN4 supports both classic (toggle) such as momentary (push-button) switches and is suitable for bi-directional and cross-linkages. Embedded automatic switch-off function also allows operation in pulse switching.

Dry contact switching

Like its predecessor, Shelly 1 GEN4 supports dry contact switching. Withstands loads up to 16A (240V AC) or 10A (30V DC), making it suitable for Voltage-free switching in applications such as garage doors, door openers or irrigation systems. It can also switch 12V or 24V DC/AC circuits.

Important: Shelly 1 GEN4 request Neutral and phase conductor to operate. The switched phase line and the incoming phase line shall have <strong=the same phase angle. The device is not suitable for multiphase wiring.
