Shelly 1PM Gen4 is a fourth-generation smart relay with built-in power metering and supports the management of electrical loads up to 16A (3500W). It is the ideal solution for automating lighting, household appliances and other electrical devices. It boasts improved communication reliability, larger memory and compatibility with Matter, allowing for greater flexibility when integrating into smart homes. Shelly 1PM Gen4 is the latest generation of single-pole smart relay, Like its predecessor, it supports switching up to 16A and includes a power metering function accessible via a mobile app. Like all Shelly devices, the 1PM Gen4 connects directly to your Wi-Fi routerwithout the need for a local hub, controller or gateway. It also supports native Matter integration. In addition, Gen4 devices have a secondary mode of operation that must be selected before aggregation, allowing zigbee communicate with the zigbee gateway or coordinator. Whether used in Wi-Fi or zigbee mode, it is suitable for automating individual devices or integrating into a complete smart home system, for example when renovating a property. Its compact size allows it to be installed behind standard wall switches or inside junction boxes, even for retrofit applications. Installation behind an existing wall switch allows the Shelly 1PM Gen4 to provide remote control of lighting and connected devices, while retaining the functionality of a physical switch. This makes it ideal for transforming existing systems into smart ones. Unlike the Mini version, its maximum current load of 16A is also suitable for controlling socket outlets. The relay includes a switch input, so the wall switch is still useful even when controlling the device via Wi-Fi. You can set automatic on/off timers in the app or even disable the wall switch completely - a useful feature for children's rooms, for example. Shelly 1PM Gen4 is compatible with both two-position (toggle) as well as momentary (push-button) switches and supports 2-way and cross-wiring. It can also operate in pulse switching with automatic shut-off.
