Shelly WAVE i4 wireless input switcher/scene controller

The Shelly Qubino Wave i4 Smart Module has no relay, but can wirelessly control other Shelly Wave relays by sensing the status of up to 4 switches. It can also be used to control scenes from a wall switch and to create wireless switching.

Original price was: 20,79 €.Current price is: 15,59 €.

The Shelly Qubino Wave i4 Smart Module is a member of the Shelly Wave family, which uses the Z-Wave protocol (868.42 MHz in Europe) for communication. As Z-Wave is the protocol for smart homes, it was developed specifically for communication between smart devices. The sub-gigahertz frequency makes the signal propagate well, and the Z-Wave MESH network topology allows devices that are remote from the central unit to communicate properly (devices under constant power act as signal relays). Z-Wave devices require a Z-Wave Hub or a USB coordinator (e.g. connected to a miniPC) to operate. The Z-Wave protocol uses a single communication command class, so thousands of products from hundreds of different brands are compatible with each other, and devices in a Z-Wave system can work together as a network. A Z-Wave network can contain up to 232 devices. An additional benefit of the Z-Wave protocol is that it supports group associations, which allow direct associations to be created between individual devices on the network. An additional advantage of Z-Wave devices is that they can be configured with a number of parameters at protocol level so that they can be tailored to the most specific needs.
The Shelly Wave i4 Smart Module does not include output relays, this device can serve as an input if installed in the dashboard behind the switch/actuator. This detects a change in the state of the switches/actuators connected to the pins of the module. It can be powered by 12 VDC, 24-48 VDC (on a separate line terminal) and 230 VAC, with a dry contact between the output line terminals. The module is also equipped with overheating protection to ensure safe operation even in small rooms with socket outlets.

Parachute:
The module has an "S" button, which is a function button. This button is used to start the pairing, unpairing and factory reset procedures. These functions are available for a limited time after switch-on.

Pair/unpair/factory reset:
Press and hold the "S" pairing button until the status indicator turns blue. Then press the "S" button again directly (min. 2 seconds) to initiate the pairing/unpairing state.

Shelly Wave i4 requires a constant 110-240 V AC power supply to operate.

The four switch inputs expect the same voltage:

  • and detects whether the switch is on or off,
  • or, if not used for a switch, to detect if there is current in the circuit.

Wave i4 is compatible with the new Shelly family of light switches with four "scene control" buttons that can be clicked in the back to easily create commands to control other devices (group or scene) in the Shelly system.

(The 4-button wall switch is not included in the Shelly Wave i4 system, but is available as a separate product).

As with other smart relays, it requires a neutral conductor in addition to the phase conductor to operate.
