About Z-Wave:

Z-Wave is a smart home protocol specifically designed for communication between smart devices. The sub-gigahertz frequency ensures reliable signal transmission, while the MESH network topology allows devices remote from the central unit to communicate efficiently (devices with a permanent power connection act as repeaters). Z-Wave devices need a Z-Wave hub or USB coordinator (e.g. connected to a mini PC) to operate. The protocol uses standardised communication Command Classes (CCCs), ensuring compatibility between hundreds of brands and thousands of devices. Devices within a Z-Wave network can operate as a single system. A network can contain up to 232 devices. The Z-Wave protocol also has the advantage of supporting association groups, which allow direct connections between devices within the network. Shelly Wave Pro Dimmer 1PM is a DIN rail-mounted single-channel smart dimmer designed for precise control of the luminance of the lighting. As it is designed to be DIN rail mounted, it requires continuous wiring (star wiring). It can operate stand-alone with a switch or pushbutton, or be integrated into Z-Wave smart home systems, allowing remote access and control via a smart home controller and internet connection.
