The SmartWise B6 UNI Zigbee family of smart wall switches features a physical push button on the front panel and embedded chips that support Zigbee 3.0 + RF 433MHz Links. The Smart Wall Switch needs to be connected to a Zigbee 3.0 gateway or hub, which can be a Sonoff or SmartWise Zigbee gateway connected to the eWeLink cloud platform, or another local Zigbee hub compatible with standard Zigbee 3.0 devices. The RF 433MHz receiver allows evaporation with Sonoff or SmartWise RF433 wireless switches and remotes for local remote control or wireless two-way switching.
The SmartWise B6 Zigbee Smart Light Switch is available with one, two or three buttons (gang) and the front panel can be white, grey, black or gold.
A similar model of SmartWise switches is also available in an elegant glass touch panel version in white or black, called SmartWise T6 Zigbee, with the same smart features as the model with physical push buttons.
Wiring
The UNI version of SmartWise Smart Wall Switches supports universal wiring: recommended phase + neutral conductor, but also supports wiring to only one phase conductor (without neutral), so they can be used anywhere as a replacement for traditional wall switches. If they are wired without a neutral conductor, they are recommended for lights only and are compatible with tungsten, LED and CFL bulbs. If only single phase wiring is used, a small anti-rip module (supplied in the packaging) must be connected to the luminaire.
Smart home platform
SmartWise standard Zigbee 3.0 wall switches are compatible with most Zigbee gateways and hubs, so they can be used on a variety of platforms. When used with a Sonoff or SmartWise Zigbee gateway, they are connected to the eWeLink cloud platform and the switch can be managed via the app eWeLink. In this case, they also work well with other brands of devices using eWeLink, such as Sonoff, SmartWise, WDYK and Woolley.
If you want to use them with a local Zigbee hub, you can also choose a low-cost SONOFF iHost hub, which runs the local eWeLink platform (eWeLink Cube) instead of the cloud-based eWeLink platform.
Of course, you can also choose another platform that supports Zigbee 3.0 connections, such as the Aoetec SmartThings hub.
They can also be used in an advanced way with the Home Assistant Green hub, powered by the open source Home Assistant platform and the SkyConnect Zigbee USB coordinator, or with the Sonoff ZBDongle USB Zigbee coordinator connected to a local hub.
Local governance
SmartWise B6 UNI Zigbee smart switches have a physical push button on the front panel that allows the lights on the wall switch to be operated in the same way as a traditional non-fixed switch.
Local remote control
Thanks to the built-in 433MHz RF receiver, they can be remotely controlled with SmartWise wireless or Sonoff RF433 wall switches and remotes. With these wireless switches it is easy to create a 2-way or 3-way wireless switch.
For 2 or 3-button versions, you can steam each button individually with different wireless switches and remotes.
Features:
The switch needs to be paired with a Zigbee gateway or hub, and via the internet-connected gateway you can check the status of the switch (on/off) at any time in an app on your phone or web interface. You can also remotely turn the switch on or off and set on/off schedules. Depending on the features of the Zigbee gateway, you can share remote control with others, for example family members or office colleagues.
The ideal solution for smart control of all types of lights and lamps.
Useful as a home security solution as it allows you to programme presence simulation - switching on and off on a schedule so that outside observers think you're home.
Of course, you can also set other automation between your eWeLink devices - whether Wi-Fi, Zigbee or RF - based on sensor data or the status of other devices.
