The Sonoff 4CH R3 is Sonoff's 4-channel smart switching relay with 230 V AC switching capability. This version of the product is WiFi only (no 433 MHz RF receiver!) and can be remotely accessed via the internet from the eWeLink smartphone app.Only 230 V AC switching is supported, dry contact switching is not supported.

The Sonoff 4CH is a four-channel standard 230V AC smart relay switch from a smart home device manufacturer, with built-in WiFi chip and compatibility with the eWeLink app.
It uses your local WiFi network to connect to the eWeLink cloud, so it can be controlled remotely via the eWeLink app on your smartphone. You can also set ON/OFF schedules, timers and ON/OFF loops. The eWeLink app also supports scenes, i.e. automations with triggers/actuators and automation actions.
This version of the product does NOT have an RF 433 receiver, so it cannot be remotely controlled via a nearby RF wireless switch or RF remote.
The Sonoff 4CH (R3 version) is a popular choice for controlling 4 independent 230V AC devices such as lights, sockets and other electronic devices on 230V AC. It is not suitable for switching dry contacts (e.g. for garage doors or motorised patio doors)!
All you need is an iOS or Android smartphone with access to a data network or WiFi connection, and then you can remotely switch on/off all 4 channels of the relay. You can also share access to the app with others. Use it smartly to save on electricity, automate ON/OFF at specific times or to set time loops for your devices.
There is also an INTERLOCK mode which allows only one channel to be used at a time, so it can be used to control 230V AC bidirectional motors.
Important: Sonoff 4CH can only be used for 230V AC switching on all 4 channels - not suitable for DC voltages or dry contacts!
Sonoff 4CH R3 can be mounted on a DIN rail in the electrical box.
Differences between 4CH R3 and 4CH PRO R3:
- The 4CH R3 relay operates only on 230V AC power input, while the 4CH PRO R3 operates on 230V AC or 9V-23V DC
- The 4CH R3 is a single phase 230V AC relay switch and the 4CH PRO R3 has 4 independent channels with NO/NC (normally open/closed) function, allowing switching of any voltage (AC/DC) or dry contacts.
- The 4CH R3 uses WiFi only, while the 4CH PRO R3 includes a 433MHz RF receiver, so it can also be controlled with a 433MHz RF remote or wireless RF switch.
