Sonoff ZBMINI-L2 Extreme Zigbee Relay Module

The Sonoff ZBMINI-L2, also called Sonoff ZBMINI Extreme, is a super mini Zigbee relay module with a single live wire (no neutral), a new version of the previous ZBMINI-L product. It is remotely controlled over the internet when connected to a Zigbee hub.

Original price was: 17,59 €.Current price is: 13,19 €.

The Sonoff ZBMini-L2, or ZBMINI Extreme, is a new version of the smart ZigBee relay for a single live wire (without a null conductor) that can be remotely controlled over the internet when connected to a Zigbee bridge. It is one of the smallest Zigbee smart switches that can be easily integrated into even the smallest EU/86/120 type recessed docking boxes. It works with different types of external switches to control devices such as traditional light switches or pushbutton switches. The main advantage is that no neutral conductor is required, which makes it easy to install and use in most situations. It also supports bi-directional operation, making it suitable for stairwell lighting with two switches.
What is Zigbee? Zigbee is a standardised wireless protocol for smart homes/IoT, created specifically for communication between smart devices. Zigbee devices do not have a Wi-Fi chip and do not connect directly to a Wi-Fi router, but to a Zigbee gateway or bridge, which is a key part of the Zigbee system. Zigbee technology generally supports wireless data transmission over short distances (10-100 metres in line-of-sight, depending on the device's performance) at low transmission speeds, with low power consumption, which enables long battery life in battery-powered Zigbee sensors. It also reduces the load on WiFi networks, which is useful in larger smart home systems, as the Zigbee devices communicate over a separate Zigbee network and the Zigbee-WiFi gateway is the only element that connects to the local WiFi network with a single IP number. Zigbee also supports a so-called “mesh” network, which means that devices connected to a constant 230V power supply act as signal amplifiers and forward the communication towards the Zigbee gateway if the sensor is out of range. This “signal hopping” gives “mesh” networks greater range and reliability than traditional “star” networks.
The ZBMini-L2 / ZBMINI Extreme is compatible with Sonoff Zigbee-WiFi bridges such as the Sonoff Zigbee Bridge and Sonoff Zigbee Bridge Pro (ZBBridge-P), as well as the eWeLink compatible SmartWise Zigbee Bridge Pro, allowing Zigbee devices to be managed in the same eWeLink application as Sonoff WiFi devices. The usual eWeLink platform features such as remote status display, on/off, schedules and timers are available, but the temporary inching function is not supported for this Zigbee relay. It is also compatible with the SmartThings hub, where it can be controlled using the SmartThings app available for iOS and Android. Features such as remote on/off, schedules and others are available. It is also supported with Amazon Alexa Echo speakers, the NSPanel Pro Zigbee hub and ZBDongle P and E versions. It can also connect to Home Assistant via ZHA and Zigbee2mqtt for local management and OTA device updates.   The ZBMINI-L2 version is a version of the relay that does not need a neutral conductor, it operates only with a phase (live) conductor.   The ZBMINI-L2 relay is installed behind a wall switch, where the power of the controlled luminaire must be at least 3W and no additional anti-flicker module is required.   Product features:
  • Recommended for control and automation of lights. The lamp wattage must be more than 3W.
  • The Sonoff ZBMINI-L2 does not support inductive loads such as fans.
  • Compatible with eWeLink-compatible devices Sonoff ZBBridge, SmartThings hub, Amazon hub, Philips Hue Hub
  • ZBMINIL2 is a Zigbee End-Device.
