The Sonoff SNZB-04P is a battery-operated Zigbee door/window sensor that uses the Zigbee 3.0 smart home protocol for communication. It can signal changes in the status of doors or windows with the help of a magnetic interlocutor.

SNZB-04P is Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 sensor for doors and windows, a compact smart device for the smart home that uses the Zigbee protocol and communicates via a Zigbee gateway to control other devices. Its small size allows it to be discreetly mounted on doors or windows. It has more rounded and smooth lines, a higher capacity battery and Zigbee 3.0 compatibility, an improvement over its predecessor SNZB-04.
For example, when communicating via the Sonoff Zigbee Bridge Pro, it transmits data to the eWeLink cloud, allowing management of other Sonoff or SmartWise WiFi and eWeLink devices. The Zigbee 3.0 standard also makes the SNZB-04P compatible with other Zigbee gateways (always check the gateway's list of supported devices for full compatibility).
What is Zigbee?
Most Sonoff products use Wi-Fi and RF as communication methods, which makes the devices affordable compared to other smart home technologies, but these are not specifically IoT standards.
On the contrary Zigbee ideal for low-energy applianceswhere there is not a high data throughput but minimum latency is important. Zigbee is a good choice for battery-powered sensors or remote controls, as Zigbee provides significantly longer runtime compared to Wi-Fi. Zigbee sensors cannot be used stand-alone; a Zigbee gateway is required to connect them to a home or office network.
Due to the nature of Zigbee technology, connecting to Zigbee devices is quick and easy, much faster than Wi-Fi devices.
