Shelly 2PM Gen3 dual-channel smart relay module with energy meter for shades

The Shelly 2PM Gen3 is a WiFi+Bluetooth compatible, wall box mountable, smart relay module with two circuits. It supports wet contact switching and has a roller shutter operation mode.

Original price was: 44,14 €.Current price is: 33,11 €.

Shelly 2PM Gen3 is the new, improved third generation of the second generation Shelly Plus 2PM two-channel smart relay. Like its predecessor, it allows power measurement on both circuits and control of two independent circuits. In motor/rotor control mode, it also supports two-way switches (e.g. open/close) for motor control, such as roller shutters or blinds. Due to its compact dimensions, it can be easily installed behind wall switches or mounted on a DIN rail in an electrical cabinet with an adapter.

Like all Shelly devices, it connects directly to a Wi-Fi router, without the need for a local HUB or cloud management bridge. It can be installed as a standalone device to automate or meter two circuits (e.g. sockets or two light circuits) or as part of a complete system in a new or retrofit installation.

It is one of the smallest devices with Wi-Fi connectivity for smart switch management and smart metering. Its small dimensions allow installation behind a standard wall switch, socket in a switch or in a junction box, even when retrofitted, and allow remote control of lighting or other loads connected to the socket and monitoring of their status (on/off). A common application is to install it behind a roller shutter wall switch or in a roller shutter junction box, as the way the roller shutters are operated is one of the most professional on the market.

Installation in a socket behind the wall of existing switches allows Shelly 2PM GEN3 remote control of two lights while maintaining the existing two-channel switch, monitoring on/off status and energy consumption, making it ideal for use as a smart retrofit solution. The Shelly 2PM GEN3 is often used for two-channel wall switches and socket outlets, and its maximum load rating of 16A allows it to operate socket outlets as well.

The Shelly 2PM GEN3 relay, like other small Shelly smart relays, includes a switch input for each circuit, which means that when installed behind wall switches, it can still be controlled by the existing wall switch to turn on/off the lamp (or other load) and be remotely controlled via Wi-Fi at the same time. A wide range of timers is also available. In the Shelly app, the switch can also be disabled - useful in rooms for small children, for example, so that control is only possible via the app.

The relay is compatible not only with rotary switches but also with push buttons. It can also be used to connect cross and double and triple switches.

With the automatic switch-off function, the momentary switch mode can also be set.

The Shelly 2PM GEN3 relay switches the input current (110V-240V AC / 24V-30V DC) at its output (max. 16A), therefore this type is not suitable for dry contact switches!

IMPORTANT: The phase conductor supplying the Shelly 2PM Gen3 and the phase conductor at the switch input must be of the same phase, the Shelly 2PM Gen3 is not suitable for multiphase applications!

REFERENCE:

The Shelly 2PM GEN3 has the same dimensions as its predecessor, so standard DIN adapters for GEN3 relays can be used. Schematic diagrams are also included for easy and clear installation.

BLUETOOTH CONNECTIVITY:

Connection requires the new Shelly Cloud app, not compatible with the old Shelly Cloud app. Connecting is as fast as with Shelly Plus 2PM, thanks to the built-in Bluetooth chip.

MORE POWERFUL PROCESSOR, MORE FEATURES:

Instead of the ESP32 processor found in the Shelly Plus 2PM, GEN3 products feature Shelly's own IoT chip, the ESP-Shelly-C38F processor, which includes an even faster and more powerful CPU and twice as much memory (8 MB), allowing for enhanced features and faster performance than the PLUS series.

OVERHEATING AND OVERVOLTAGE PROTECTION:

The Shelly 2PM GEN3 is equipped with overheat, overvoltage and overload protection, ensuring even safer operation in small spaces and sockets.

SHELLY PLUS GEN3:

Product:

  • Supported by HTTP/HTTPS webhook-eallowing easy connection, notification or control of compatible devices or other automation systems
  • Similar to Shelly Plus devices, it supports sunrise and sunset schedules, now with +/- 23 hours adjustment
  • Able to handle up to 20 timers (stored on the device and running offline)
  • Supported by mjS scriptsallowing users to create their own functions and features! GEN3 devices allow multiple scripts to be executed at the same time, depending on different triggers such as I/O status, sensor data or WLAN requests.
  • GEN3 also supports Virtual Components, which allow additional functions to be created and their values or states to be changed via external systems using HTTP commands.
  • It also offers a Bluetooth gateway function, and GEN3 devices can communicate with Shelly BLU sensors and remote controls via a local cloudless connection, allowing integration between GEN3 and BLU devices.

Possibility of timetables:

  • Possibility to set on/off schedules according to days of the week
  • Support for sunrise and sunset schedules (not only the exact time, but also e.g. sunset + 5 hours)
  • Supports automatic switch-off and switch-on after a set time

Supported modes of operation:

  • Cloud mode: connected to the free Shelly Cloud, where you can manage and configure your devices via the Shelly Cloud app for iOS and Android or via the website https://my.shelly.cloud/
  • LAN / local area network: you can only control devices connected to the same local network
  • Wi-Fi hotspot: You can use the device as a Wi-Fi hotspot if there is no permanent Wi-Fi connection at the location; you can connect directly to the device from your mobile phone or laptop and control it while connected

Consumption data is stored in your Shelly Cloud account only when it's a smart device in cloud mode, and you can view and download them in the app.

In cloud mode, Shelly devices can manage each other and switch on/off each other via the Shelly function. Cloud Scene (Smart Governance)(e.g. a Shelly relay behind a wall switch can switch on/off another Shelly relay behind an outlet, which is independent in terms of wiring, via a cloud connection, so the devices can wirelessly control each other via WiFi and the factory cloud according to the rules you define.)

In cloud mode, you can also connect to voice assistants such as Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Siri Shortcuts via the Shelly Cloud app, as well as to external systems via MQTT, HTTP REST API, CoAP, UDP, TCP/IP protocols.

Examples of use: as a replacement for a conventional two-channel light switch, controlling two separate light circuits, controlling roller shutters/blinds, monitoring power consumption on a single circuit or socket.
